max(0, target price − balance)

## This is arithmetic, not an earnings promise

Choose a current balance and a target price. If the balance already covers the price, the result is zero remaining; it does not mean the item has been bought or equipped. The default prices come from the reviewed instrument reference. [[source]](https://scrooms.app/tools/chimes-planner/#source-instruments)

A manual price overrides the reference for this calculation only. The tool does not convert Robux, estimate future sale prices, include unknown prerequisites or predict how many catches you need. Values must be whole Chimes from zero to one billion.

## After you reach the target

Check the actual item and price in your server. Purchase only after reviewing the current prompt, then confirm your equipment separately. Read the [selling and budgeting guide](https://scrooms.app/guides/chimes/) before clearing items needed for quests.

## Worked examples

max(0, target price - current balance). Check the actual shop quote.

Examples of max(0, target price − balance)

| Target price | Balance | Remaining Chimes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 750 | 200 | 550 |
| 100 | 100 | 0 |
| 100 | 150 | 0 |
| 4,500 | 1,000 | 3,500 |

A result of zero means the entered balance covers the entered price. It does not confirm a purchase, prerequisites or equipment changes. Select a custom target when your shop shows another price.
